What is Decoden? Decoden is a Japanese trend that’s very popular there and growing in popularity elsewhere in the world. For someone like me who is obsessed with cute and pretty things it is a dream come true. Decoden loosely translates as decorated phone (deco=decorated, denwa=phone). Although the term decoden translates to decorated phones the trend has expanded to include mp3 players, mirrors, boxes. Basically anything flat can be deco’d, some girls even deco their nails. It is a trend mostly embraced by teenage girls but older females are fans too. I am certainly far from my teens. There are lots of styles within this trend but the most popular themes is whipped cream effect decoden where whipped clay is piped onto the surface and cabochons are placed onto the clay. The use of rhinestones in decoden is also very popular. My Creation I haven’t done any decoden for a long time but recently deco’d my own phone and I love it. Totally impractical but very cute. I got my supplies from UK based store Candy Crystal. They sell supplies as well as pre-made decoden phone cases. What do you think?
