I’ve been dying to try these glosses for a long time so I was very happy when a friend sent me a beauty package which included one in the shade Timeless Plum. I’m a big lover of plum shades as they tend to go very well with my skin tone. Obviously plum shades are mostly seen as an autumn trend but I am not the type of girl who follows trends either in fashion or beauty. I wear what I like whenever I like. These tints come in five different colours or ten if you live in the states. I’m actually tired of brands giving us Brits less choice than our American counterparts. The same thing happened with the Revlon Lip Butters!! I’ve read that some bloggers didn’t like the applicator but it worked well for me. I find most applicators are quite hard and make applying a gloss or tint a nightmare but this applicator is soft and flexible so made applying the product a breeze. One tip though – make sure to exfoliate your lips before hand because the tint tends to stick to any dry bits on your lips thus making dry areas even more visible. The shade is a beauty, a lovely deep plum that looks as good on the lips as it does in the tube. It doesn’t feel at all sticky like most glosses and is actually absorbed by your lips. For an even deeper plum shade just let the first coat settle for a minute or so then apply another layer. This tint is called a 10h tint but unfortunately it doesn’t last for barely half that time without the need for a topping up. But the colour does disperse evenly so you aren’t left with patches of colour on your lips. It lasted around the 4-5 hour mark but that was with me eating and drinking while wearing it and in my experience most glosses last for half that time. All in all I’m very happy with it and I will be trying out more colours in the range. Have you tried it? What did you think? Maybelline Superstay Tint Gloss is available from Boots priced £6.95 and is currently included in their 3 for 2 promotion. 2 Responses megan, the frugalista diaries August 12th, 2012 i love that color though – Xo Megan Reply Michelle August 12th, 2012 Firstly, I feel the same about having limited choices at times – us South Africans have the same issue. Oh, I’ve been meaning to try out the tester of this but just did not get around to doing so. It’s a really nice deep red… I like it. I should go and see how it will look on me because I like the colour a lot. Or maybe find a pink/red shade. Hope you have a lovely week!
