I’ve been a massive fan of Carrie’s blogWish Wish Wish for a long time now and Lucy’s blog Snippets of Shiny Thoughts. They provide original style, great imagery and Carrie loves alot of the same things as me – cute typography, Korean stationery etc. So when an invite arrived from Carrie and Lucy inviting me to their magazine launch I was excited. If their blogs are anything to go by I knew the magazine would be amazing so earlier today I took myself off to a pretty pub in Central London for the official launch.
The venue was spellbinding and it reminded me of a 1940s tearoom and every little detail was taken care of. The food was uniquely presented with salads in jam jars and gin cocktails served in vintage style teacups and THE CAKE was the most beautiful culinary concoction I have ever seen in my life and it tasted just as beautiful. Illustrators were on hand to sketch our portaits, sponsor Penhaglion’s were also there to discover your signature scent and there was even the chance to learn how to knit (I suck at it).
But the highlight of the afternoon was the chance to leaf through the magazine itself. It is filled with all the things I love – London specific places to visit, craft tutorials, recipe, fashion, books and so much more. The typography is stunning and the content is like nothing I’ve ever seen before in any magazine. Original, quirky, well written and beautifully laid out. This magazine has everything I need and more. Hard to believe that it was created in a few months by bloggers I know. Carrie and Lucy have done an amazing job and I have my fingers crossed that there will be more issues in the future.
Wish Magazine is available from the 21st May via Carrie’s blog http://wishwishwish.net
